2 stars for writing style and engaging story - I just had to finish it even if in disbelief。 I like that story has come full circle and it had potential, it really had, even if Pip was almost a completely different character。 It was actually good until the halfway mark, but then。。。 I have no words。 All that happened afterwards is unrealistic and just WRONG on so many levels。 That was not any gray area, but PITCH BLACK and simply cannot be justified in any way。 Just。。。No。

Okay honestly wasn’t feeling it for the first 200 pages of the book but I swear IT GOT CRAZY OML。 I got way too addicted to this book and could not put it down。 It also sorta scared me and now I’m scared to walk my dog at night now。 The ending was a bit disappointing but the last page was a good closing。

Literally the best murder mystery book I’ve ever read, but the thing did seem a little easy to solve on your own but I’ve read a lot so it might just be that I’m good at noticing things

Good lordThis book is worse than the other two

Wow。 I'm not sure what happened, but this was nothing like the first two, which to me, is a totally bad thing。 First off, I loved the way the first two books were written, with all the different formats used to tell the story: podcast dialogue, interviews, etc。 You will find none of that awesomeness here。 Second, the teen drama and angst was way over the top for me。 I realize that Pip was dealing with PTSD and it was probably pretty severe, but Pip got so painfully whiny and over dramatic that I Wow。 I'm not sure what happened, but this was nothing like the first two, which to me, is a totally bad thing。 First off, I loved the way the first two books were written, with all the different formats used to tell the story: podcast dialogue, interviews, etc。 You will find none of that awesomeness here。 Second, the teen drama and angst was way over the top for me。 I realize that Pip was dealing with PTSD and it was probably pretty severe, but Pip got so painfully whiny and over dramatic that I found myself rolling my eyes on a regular basis, at least for the first half。 The second half just bugged me because it didn't seem at all authentic to Pip, even though it weirdly made sense。 (I hate that the cops are so worthless。) And finally, without including more complaints that would involve spoilers, the dialogue just wasn't realistic。 Teenagers don't talk like that。 However, even after all the complaining, I would still recommend someone read it if they have read the first two。 It's worth it to finish the trilogy。 (Language) 。。。more

It's the summer before college for Pip and the summer after her hit podcast, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder has gone viral after solving TWO of her town's mysteries。 Pip is recovering from PTSD and trying to get herself back to "normal" before going off to school in the fall, but there have been mysterious events that transcend coincidence。 Now, it's Pip being stalked by a mysterious person who has adopted some signatures of a convicted serial killer。 Who will look for Pip when she's the one who It's the summer before college for Pip and the summer after her hit podcast, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder has gone viral after solving TWO of her town's mysteries。 Pip is recovering from PTSD and trying to get herself back to "normal" before going off to school in the fall, but there have been mysterious events that transcend coincidence。 Now, it's Pip being stalked by a mysterious person who has adopted some signatures of a convicted serial killer。 Who will look for Pip when she's the one who disappears?Written in 3rd person from Pip's POV, the third book follows the events after Pip's encounter with death as she struggles to cope with PTSD。 The tone is definitely much darker than the previous two installments and Jackson does an excellent job in describing Pip's mindset。 Pip is in a moral conundrum as she recognizes that life and justice--and crime--are not always the face-value black-and-white that she believed for so long。 She struggles with this new truth as she tries to figure out who is sending her vaguely threatening texts, DMs, and surprises on her driveway。 The first part of the book is a slow burn (and I mean sloooooow with the climax occurring stunningly fast。 This was my least favorite of the three ONLY BECAUSE of the ending that--ok, fine, wrapped things up without slapping readers in the face--left me with whiplash。 The prose, at times, sounded repetitive and dragged on when describing Pip's mental state and I wasn't 100% sold on the motivations for (many of) Pip's actions (view spoiler)[aka self-medicating to cope, and murdering her kidnapper, framing Max for the murder--with the help of her friends--and the absurd idea that a teenager, even having studied true crime--could get away with murder (hide spoiler)]。 Solid 3: it was fine。 。。。more

What a great ending to an amazing series。 I wish there would be another book, but I know this is the end for this part of Pip’s life。

I LOVED THIS SERIES。(Tbh i can’t remember 90% of the first book😭😭but the other 2 were SO GOOD)I literally don’t even know what to say and actually can’t say anything without spoilers。This book took a darker turn and it was lowkey creepy。(check TW if you’re sensitive)Overall i really recommend this series and I’m looking forward to reading more Holly Jacksons books!!

Holly Jackson did her characters dirty, especially Pip。 I recommend you only read the first book in this series and let the rest be。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I did not like this book as much as the other two。 I don’t like the personality that she gave Pip this book。 She’s broken。 At the end of book I still have questions??Does Pip get off the Valium??Does she learn to get over her trauma??Does her and Ravi get back together??? Does Becca get out of jail and how does she feel about her dad being DT??

I was hesitant to read this book purely because I did not care for the second one, I thought it was a filler book and overall had no ties to the first book at all。 So upon starting this book I did not have high hopes at all。 After getting into the book I started to really like it, the plot twists were amazing and that is really what made the book for me。 but, I felt like it hit its climax too early near the end。 I feel like the author could have dragged out some things a little longer for a last I was hesitant to read this book purely because I did not care for the second one, I thought it was a filler book and overall had no ties to the first book at all。 So upon starting this book I did not have high hopes at all。 After getting into the book I started to really like it, the plot twists were amazing and that is really what made the book for me。 but, I felt like it hit its climax too early near the end。 I feel like the author could have dragged out some things a little longer for a lasting effect and made more of an impact。 Needless to say, I did not finish this book because after some huge plot twists it kinda fell off from there and was not worth reading the rest of。 Overall, I really enjoyed this series as a whole but I feel like there could have been some other things to make this book and series just that much better。 。。。more

A wonderful close to the trilogy, and shows a lot of character development for the MC as well as the world around her。 Personally, I really enjoyed the way in which the book was split between the 'before' and the 'after' of the 'event'。A really great way to complete the trilogy; felt justified and in a way very reminiscent of things like "How To Get Away With Murder" and "Scandal"。 I liked it。 For your own sanity, I do recommend reading all 3 back to back, so you do not feel lost at times - I ha A wonderful close to the trilogy, and shows a lot of character development for the MC as well as the world around her。 Personally, I really enjoyed the way in which the book was split between the 'before' and the 'after' of the 'event'。A really great way to complete the trilogy; felt justified and in a way very reminiscent of things like "How To Get Away With Murder" and "Scandal"。 I liked it。 For your own sanity, I do recommend reading all 3 back to back, so you do not feel lost at times - I had to skim through the past 2 books at times to remind myself of previous events that were referenced in this book 。。。more

3。5/5 rounded upWhile I still enjoyed this one and absolutely flew through it I didn’t think it was as good as the first two books。 I think it got to be a little too much towards the end for me。 Still a very enjoyable read though!

dnf at 15% + skimmed the middle & endi don’t know if i’ll pick it up again, maybe to buddy read, but i wasn’t liking the direction the book was going in narrative and tone-wise so i decided to put it on pause。 skimmed the last few chapters and was punched in the face, gut, and arms (both) and decided to not read the whole thing
